About the project
The retreat brought together politicians from the canton’s municipalities, staff from the Ministère du Logement – Direction de l’Aménagement du Territoire (AETER), and staff from the municipal associations to develop a shared spatial vision for the region by 2050. The goal of the meeting was to discuss key issues facing the municipalities’ future and to define concrete areas of action for a resilient, livable, and connected region.
Methodology and Implementation
The methodological design of the retreat facilitated a structured and effective exchange among the participants:
Presentations & Context Setting: Presentations on the steps taken so far in regional development and the strategic challenges of the coming years.
- Group Work & Participatory Methods: In topic-specific groups, visions for the canton’s future were discussed, evaluated, and further developed. The groups rotated several times to bring together different perspectives.
- Interactive Participation Formats: Mentimeter polls, visual facilitation techniques, and structured feedback processes ensured a dynamic and inclusive discussion.
Results and Added Value
The closed-door meeting confirmed the high relevance of strengthened intermunicipal cooperation and the need for long-term strategic planning for the canton of Réiden. The methodological guidance helped create a productive and pleasant working atmosphere. This enabled the political stakeholders to collaborate constructively and establish common development goals. Thorough preparation of the technical context and participatory formats enabled the discussions to be structured efficiently and the results to be documented in a targeted manner.
